Set up this game

Set up the game

Choose 1–200 questions, with shortcuts for 10, 15, 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200. For 2–30 players, individually or in two teams. The seven categories are sports, culture and art, politics, economics, science, technology and mathematics. Questions do not repeat in a game; a category disappears once its available questions in the chosen language run out.

General questions from the expanded file are available in Spanish. Its mathematical formulas are also translated into the other five languages; Spanish questions are never mixed into another language.

How to play

For 2–30 players, individually or in two teams. Choose any number from 1 to 200 questions across seven topics with no repeats. Each question lasts 15 seconds: correct answers earn 500–1000 points depending on speed; incorrect answers earn zero. Read the options on the shared screen and tap the matching shape on your phone. Use each power once: ×2 doubles your points, 50/50 removes two wrong options only on your phone, and freeze blocks a rival for the first three seconds. Choose the rival before the question, during category selection; freezes do not stack. Categories are random or chosen by last place within eight seconds. Teams alternate by joining order and compete by average points per member to balance unequal sizes. Highest score wins; ties are shared.

Scoring and winning

Each question has 8 seconds for its category, up to 15 to answer, then an 8-second result. Answers are final. The result shows the solution, any available explanation or source, and scores, then advances automatically. Speed is measured when the server receives the answer. After the last question, winners, podium and category experts appear; ties share victory.

Display, controllers and reconnecting

Open montelana.com/tv on the shared display and enter the room code. Each player scans the QR or visits montelana.com/join, enters a name and keeps that browser as a private controller. An invitation QR never grants control over another player. The host starts the game; the public display does not take a seat. Keep the same session to reconnect. There are no saved games or email recovery; tables expire after 24 hours without activity. Opening this manual in another tab does not pause timers.
